MIKLÓS RADNÓTI - HUNGARIAN POETRY

Miklós Radnóti is one of the most outstanding Hungarian poets. His life was tragically short, only 35 years, but he made a huge and ever lasting impact on our literature, on our spirituality. With the presentation of Radnóti’s work, we try to bring his thinking, his feelings, his spirit closer to you.

The entire life of Radnóti was about struggle. Struggle for survival, struggle for finding his place in a seemingly alien world. During his birth he lost his mother and twin brother. Later, at the age of 12, he lost his father. Born in a Jewish family he wanted to become a part of the majority Christian community. He was witnessing the horrors of World War II and he died in November 1944, as a Holocaust victim.
